Each is individually designed and crafted to match exactly our client's business and personality, made to meet their needs with specialist tools as well as more conventional functionality. In many cases our solutions can replace several other software packages, providing a single integrated environment that users rarely need to leave.

We're passionate about empowering people by creating software that can at the same time be the worker's friend and co-worker, management's insight and the director's delight. Much of our work is desktop based, though of course we can also design for web deployment and it's all cross platform.
Naturally, we can also provide support and training.

No two businesses are ever quite the same and nor are our solutions.
We never start from a bunch of 'standard' templates to do this and we don't have ready-made or many shrink wrapped products for sale. Sorry, but we believe that for our software to offer real value it needs to do the right things in the right order, the right way. And that takes time as well as skill.

Sensitive pre-planning comes first. We start every project by doing a lot of listening and watching.
We ask a lot of questions. After that we work very closely with our clients and their actual users to make detailed plans for a scaleable solution that will deliver exactly what they really need. With solid foundations for now and the future. We won't take on a project without this and only after it will we begin to make solid recommendations and commence design. But it's invariably worth it. Our Worldwide clients have included FileMaker themselves, as well as Rough Trade Records, Global Motion, The RaceWay and Survival International. Right now we’re just finishing up a lovely job for a nursery school and we're starting on a completely new solution for a Kings Road retailer. Primary projects, large and small, have taken us anything from a day to a year's work. And as our clients' businesses evolve - so of course do their needs, so we always anticipate seeing old friends again and again.

Within the FileMaker community we're pretty well known for our interface design and provide metaconsulting to other developers. It is also true that we have a lot of respect for a number of other developers and have no hesitation at all in calling them in to help whenever their specialist skills exceed our own. *BabelFix principal, Chris Manton has been developing FileMaker solutions for 15 years and leads development. He's twice been an invited speaker at FileMaker developer conferences, as well as leading master classes for FileMaker International, lecturing and giving talks at MacWorld & FSA/FBA meetings. He was a judge for The FileMaker Cube Awards in 2008 & 2009.
Before founding BabelFix over 7 years ago, he ran its forerunner, e-Headroom, and also worked for Advanced Database Systems. Before this chris was a senior producer in advertising at places like JWT’s Lansdowne hotshop, Leo Burnett and Grey, working with many blue chip companies, including P&G, SmithKline Beecham (now Glaxo), BP, Scottish & Newcastle, Nestle, Mars, Rover, besides countless others large and very small, managing not only budgets from thousands to millions, but also handling complex creative and logistical challenges. He still finds all this experience very handy today.
